our history

The Good Shepherd Children's Home, located just east of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was established over forty-five years ago as a home to meet the needs of children. The home began under the leadership of Bro. Woodrow Medlock and shortly after was under the headship of Fred and Martha Kemle and continued under that leadership for twenty-seven years. They became affectionately known to the children as "Uncle Fred and Aunt Martha." They were also "Mom and Dad" for at least some period, to over eight hundred young people during that time. Since Uncle Fred's death in 1992, the home has been under the directorship of Mike and Sandy Glanzer, Jim and Patty Scalf, and (currently) Mike and Barb Juneau.

Today the Good Shepherd Children's Home still reaches out to help families all across the United States! We are continuing the Lord's work by bringing in children and providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
